Erotic Scene is an original xilography artwork realized by Mino Maccari in 1944. Hand-signed in the pseudonym of "Jean Baschie" which is the artist's signature in 1944 erotic series artwork, in pencil on the lower right, numbered, edition of 63/300 prints.
Included a white Passepartout: 49 x 34 cm.
The state of preservation is very good.
The artwork represents an erotic scenery, it is characterized by strong and confident strokes. showing the mastery in applying chiaroscuro effects that enhance the volume of nude bodies.
Mino Maccari (Siena, 1898 – Rom, 1989) was a popular Italian painter and engraver. He produced many artworks through different graphic techniques. He exhibited at important international exhibitions in the fields of art and graphics. In 1959, he became the director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome; in 1963, he won Antonio Feltrinelli's prize for painting and became president of the San Luca Academy. He realized many lithographs and etchings of satirical and political subject matters. He was also famous for erotic and sexual drawings. He has worked for many years at Il Mondo.
