Claude Lalanne is known for creating imaginative bronze objects at the limit between fine arts and decorative arts. By adding an artistic aspect to functional objects, it aims to enrich life by injecting art into everyday life. With her husband they choose not to embrace the abstraction that permeates the art world in the middle of the twentieth century, preferring to represent real life subjects, in general a form of vegetal life with regard to the works of Claude. lalanne, in a way considered surreal.
This approach has brought her great success and her work has been very well received, including by Yves Saint Laurent who has commissioned her to create a room in his house.
