Unusual Edwardian Coat

About the Item

Unusual European walking coat from the late 19th/early 20th Century. Black cotton sateen is tailored with black passementerie and embroidery. A panel of passementerie openwork is attached below the hip line to reveal openwork attached to sunflower motif embroidery below. Unusual peek a boo feature which would have likely complemented the black skirt underneath.
Full cut with double embroidered button and loop closure and gathered sleeves. Reminiscent of a Comme des Garcons twisted takes on a 19th Century outerwear. Fully lined. European circa 1900. Size: Large
