Late 19th Century 3-tier Cabinet from Fujian, China

About the Item

A late 19th century carved cabinet from Longyan city, Fujian province, China. The name Longyan (??) literally translates into "Dragon's rock". This 3-tier carved cabinet has beautiful original colour, paintings, brass handles, and in very good original condition. The carvings and paintings on this cabinet is very interesting and full of content. On the carvings, you can find many types of flowers & fruits like the Buddha's citron in vessels and baskets of various shapes and sizes, you can also find the lingzhi, zither, scrolls and various curios, all within a border of carved butterflies and flowers. On the paintings you will see many favoured auspicious symbols like the Buddha's citron, fishes, pomegranates, peaches, auspicious knots & peonies. All the colours and patina are untouched and original.
