About the Item

A beautiful and intricate work likely originally from a Japanese temple. The hand painted scene depicts a single rider and group of frolicking horses set against a gorgeous countryside landscape. Would be a unique and wonderful addition to any Asian art and artifacts collections or an eye-catching standalone piece. We are listing as Meiji period but could be Edo period. Dimensions: 26.25" wide, 5" high, 1.5" deep.

    Repaired: Possible earlier repair to one small area of base - quite natural with a work of this age, and light wear consistent with age and use (please see photos). Unique and engaging work overall. In good vintage condition with natural wear consistent with age and use and one small area along lower base that appears to have been filled/repaired (please see photos). Very engaging work over all.
