Early 20th Century Northeast African Earthenware Cooking Vessel, Circa 1900

About the Item

The dark brown earthenware bowl-shaped body rising to a flattened shoulder with incised linear & notched detail rising to a roll-over rim. The underside showing evidence of exposure to open flame. Bearing hand painted collection inventory numbers below the shoulder. Possibly of the Makonde People, Tanzania.
