About the Item
Here a beautiful bowl signed by Adriano dalla Valentina, Muranese master specialized in self made murrinas objects and sculptures. The bowl lip has two bands of amber and amethyst with a striking central part paved with murrinas. These are made with a central marbleized calcedonia, two concentric layers of amber and red, finished with the signature of Adriano's murrine. The reticello outer coating. The cut of reticello leaves a lace border that looks like the murrinas were stitched together. Lifting the piece you get to understand the finesse of it.
Adriano continues a path that was started by the Murrine Romane glass by Carlo Scarpa and the works of Ercole Barovier.
A centerpiece for a cocktail table. Precious and unique art piece. The central piece of your living room.
Base reads and other identifications, references: Signed by the artist. Production of this bowl was started in the 1980s. I am assigning a mid-1990s.
