Set of Three Vintage Geometric Murano Glass Vases, Grey and Black, Flavio Poli
About the Item
The great skills of Murano based artisans show in many different ways. Some are able blowers, others can freehanded create sculptures and elaborate bowls, and finally some master the technique of glass shaping and polishing. From their hands, some of the most intriguing geometrical Murano pieces are born, including this set of two vases and a bowl-paperweight.
Their peculiar aspect, with a darker tone glass submerged in a clear one, suggests that the pieces might have been designed by celebrated glass artist Flavio Poli, a pioneer of the "Sommerso" techinque - or at least in his style.
The set stands out nicely if the pieces are placed altogether on a shelf, tabletop or sideboard; but it looks equally great if they're spread over a whole room to set a consistent mood. All three pieces are in very good conditions; it must however be noted that one of the corners of the bowl/paperweight is chipped (as shown in the last picture).
Dimensions are 13cm height and 14 diameter for the bowl, 9cm diameter and 20 height for the small vase and 12cm diameter and 30 height fot the tall vase.
