Decorative Malachite and Brass Hinged Box by Los Castillo of Mexico

About the Item

Beautiful inlaid detail of three swans in brass and bronze on a malachite and sodalite background adorn the top of this hinged box which was made by Los Castillo of Mexico, circa 1960s. The brass box is lined in rosewood and was probably used a humidor back in the day. #513

  • Condition:
    Wear consistent with age and use. There is a very small & shallow pressure ding on the lid of the box (last 2 pictures). The malachite has a small crack which can be seen if you look very closely at it at an angle. It does not take away from the aesthetics of the piece at all.
