Georgian Oak and Mahogany Longcase Clock by John Scott, Edinburgh

About the Item

Stunning Georgian, oak and mahogany, longcase clock, having swan neck pediment with brass decoration and fretwork panels above a silvered dial signed by John Scott, Edinburgh with subsidiary seconds dial, all flanked by reeded and brass inlaid columns, arched mahogany moulded door, enclosing brass weight and pendulum, flanked by canted, reeded and brass inlaid pilasters above moulded base and bracket feet, string inlaid throughout. This superb antique clock retains original finish and soft color. The movement has been cleaned and serviced by a horologist and it is guaranteed for 12 months (UK mainland), circa 1800. Measures: H 99", W 13", body D 9"-base. H 251.5cm, W 33cm, D 22.5cm.
