Empire Portal Clock, France, Early 19th Century

About the Item

Portal clock on a rectangular, stepped base in mahogany veneered with small bun feet. The stepped architrave is supported by four smooth columns, the capitals and bases are in fire-gilded bronze. The clockwork is fixed in between the columns. Clock face with decorative ring of acanthus leaves and Roman numerals (slightly abraded).
