Antique French Napoleon III chariot clock in ormolu & Verde Antico marble

About the Item

A French ormolu and verde antico marble striking chariot clock, Circa mid 19th century. The Clock is all original and still has it's important original Gilding The case modelled with Cupid in a chariot drawn by two stallions, the jewelled blue and white enamel Roman chapter ring forming one wheel and the twin barrel movement with silk suspension and countwheel strike on bell housed within the chariot, on rectangular base with quiver, crossed bow and arrow and torch mount to the front, on four paw feet --The dial is a signed by Callas A Paris who with Ferdinand Barbedienne started in Paris in 1838. Ferdinand Barbedienne and Achille Collas, who was the inventor of a machine that would mechanically reduce statues. We offer this as fully working, having been recently serviced and we offer a one year timing guarantee with this clock. The size is 15¼ in. (38.5 cm.) high; 17¾ in. (45 cm.) wide; 5 in. (13 cm.) deep.
