Stunning Viennese enamel vintage table clock - made of:

Attention: The table clock is partially gilt !
Manufactured circa 1870
Table clock based on rectangular platter which is attached to four feet shaped as scrolls of acanthus leaves / the clockface is edged by round frame which has fixed position between a pair of columns. - Please note the finest ornaments consisting of various decorative carved scrollworks !
Vienna became a focal point / regional hub of production of finest enameled items made of silver and copper in beginning of the so-said 'Ringstrassen' - period (as from 1850) when Vienna's grand boulevard / avenue - the 'Ringstrasse' - was planned and built instead of ancient town wall having once been erected in the Middle Ages. - The range of production of enamel items was great - it included centrepieces and goblets, table & mantel (fireplace) clocks, folding screens with enameled decorations en miniature, snuffboxes and many other luxury articles - very often decorated with silver frames, crystal elements and gemstones.
