One of a Kind and Professionally Hand Carved Antique Sculpture of a Groundhog

Once in a lifetime find.
This probably is the coolest ever and most realistic groundhog sculpture you will ever see. We have searched the worldwide web and nothing even comes close. This clearly is the work of a master carver and to have found it in such superb condition more than made our day. It is not often that you come across a realistic sculpture that truly captures the soul of a particular animal, but this carved-out-of-one-piece-groundhog really ticks all the boxes. It has the right proportions, a practical size, the perfect body posture and the details in his face too show that the artist has carefully studied this endearing animal. All these features have given this unique sculpture its soul and beauty and this fine antique will make you smile every time you look at it. Groundhogs are not particularly well known in modern Europe, but the movie Groundhog Day really changed that. This rare specimen was most likely created in the German Black Forest region and judging from the flowing grain the artist picked the perfect piece of wood (we believe this to be pine or pitch pine) for this sculpture.
