Lady Icarus gilded Art Deco statue adorns French marble clock. A beautiful rendition of the female form of Icarus with Art Deco-style wings spread across the top of this lovely serene female form. Her head is set back in a special way as she contemplates the time and life’s unusual spiritual and psychological pursuits.
A unique piece of Art Deco mythology as well as a beautiful interpretation of form and function. Icarus has become a symbol for heroic daring but his flying and falling have been given a psychological timbre as well as a physical expression in all kinds of literature.
