French 19th Century Renaissance Style Rouge Antique Marble Ormolu & Bronze Tazza
About the Item
A very elegant French 19th century Renaissance st. Rouge Antique marble, ormolu and patinated bronze tazza. The tazza is raised by a circular ormolu band below the tapered marble base. The central patinated bronze support has fluted designs and palmettes with a central beaded ormolu band. Above is the mottled Rouge Antique plate, flanked by 'C' scrolled ormolu handles with acanthus leaves and an ormolu ring. The interior center is decorated by a patinated bronze medallion relief of a seated maiden holding a script in one hand and in the other a jar with with water spilling out. The relief is framed within a mottled ormolu border.
