Einar Luterkort Large Vase Swedish Modern, 1930s

About the Item

A large and very stylish Art Deco vase by the Swedish sculptor and designer Einar Lutherkort, for Upsala-Ekeby. The vase is depicting a jumping naked woman shown in very high relief. Einar Luterkort (1905-1981) Einar studied at Kungliga Konsthögskolan in Stockholm 1926-29, École des Beaux-Arts in Paris 1929, Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma 1930 and at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste München 1931. He had his first solo exhibition in Rome in 1930. In 1931 he moved back to Sweden and worked at Upsala-Ekeby for a short period. During the mid-1930s he also worked at Motala Lerkärlsfabrik as a designer.
