Contemporary Handblown Murano Glass Sculpture by Michela Cattai, Italy, 2017
Located in Milano, IT
This unique glass sculpture belongs to a three-piece series called Striati, created by Michela Cattai and executed in Murano, Venice, Italy in 2017. Its asymmetrical shape recalls distant and ancestral landscapes, capturing the essence of remote eras. The fusion of lines and curves evokes a sense of perpetual motion, conveying the continuous evolution of life. The fragility of life is represented through the medium itself: glass. The transparency and luminosity of the material symbolise the delicacy and preciousness of existence. Each layer of glass is like a page in the story of life, with its imperfections and extraordinary facets. The inspiration for this work comes from an African fertility doll...

Care Instructions: Wash in hand for best use of the glass parts and wipe the metal frame with a wet/dry cloth when needed. Droplet collection is a celebration of life and nature through the things that warm the spirit. The serie is inspired by nature, by the droplets that contain the essence of life. It's a minimalist illustration of ancient amphorra vases, using another traditional material; glass and stainless steel. It's materialized around the concept of preserving flowers...

Tall Cenedese Vintage Mid-Century Italian White Speckled Murano Glass Vase
Located in Landau an der Isar, Bayern
Large, tall and rare 'Lattimo Aventurine' Cenedese vintage Italian midcentury modern Murano glass vase, made on the island of Murano, Italy, circa 1970-1990. Particularly striking is the white speckled, dotted patches encased in clear glass with inclusions of "gold" / copper coloured specks, which are achieved through the incorporation of copper oxides, as well as the minimalist form and large size. This vase is new old stock and is in collectors condition. Rare opportunity to purchase a rare vase in a large size and in excellent condition. A fun way to add a touch of color / colour to your interior, imagine glass like this on open, white shelving in a kitchen, bathroom or in a display cabinet...

Dino Martens Murano White Ribbon Woman Body Dress Italian Art Glass Flower Vase
Located in Kissimmee, FL
Gorgeous and rare, vintage Murano hand blown white ribbons Italian art glass sculptural woman shape, body dress, flower vase. Documented to designer Dino Martens for Aureliano Toso, circa 1954, model number 5961. The piece is published in the company book which I have added on the photos. The vase is created with a scissor cut rim, that in turn is folded over and formed onto arms. It has an hourglass body shape, with a chevron pattern caused from the ribbed surface. If you run your fingers on the surface, you can feel each ribbon on the body. I personally call this my Marlyn Monroe vase. Very unusual and elegant. Would make a great display piece on any desk, vanity or curio cabinet. Fill it with fresh flowers, or display it as the sculptural piece it is. Mid-century era. A rare collectors piece! Measures 7 1/8" tall x 5 1/2" long at the arms x 4" wide at the base. Literature: Dino Martens - Muranese Glass Designer, by Marc Heiremans. Vetreria Aureliano Toso, Murano 1938 - 1968, Designs by Dino Martens, Enrico...

Glass Bowl by Lino Tagliapietra for Effetre, Clear Sepia Black Glass, Italy 1986
Located in Hausmannstätten, AT
A gorgeous Italian glass bowl by Lino Tagliapietra for Effetre International, Murano, 1986. The bowl still has an Effetre International label on it. It is also graven at the bottom with Lino Tagliapietra, Effetre International and 1987 the year of creation. Clear glass with a black or sepia colored thin net like pattern called 'zanfirico' (Italian): A type of polychrome cane made by assembling a bundle of rods of different colors, and heating it until it is soft. The bundle is then attached to two pontils and elongated by drawing. At the same time, the bundle is twisted to produce a spiral pattern. Zanfirico, which is a synonym for vetro a retorti, takes its name from the Venetian dealer Antonio Sanquirico, who, in the 1830s, encouraged the revival on Murano of this and other traditional techniques. About Lino Tagliapietra: Master glassblower Lino Tagliapietra is one of the world’s most prominent glass artists. Trained in traditional Venetian techniques, Tagliapietra is a key influence on the American studio glass movement. In 1955, at the age of 21, Tagliapietra received the title of maestro. He established himself with vividly colored sculptures...
