Mexican Hand Chased Copper Vase by Ignacio Punzo Ángel

About the Item

Made by Ignacio Punzo Ángel, this copper vase has been hand burnished and chased in a multiple diamond shaped pattern. The Punzo family is well known for their copper and silver craftsmanship. Located in Santa Clara Del Cobre in Mexico, the mastery of copper and silver artwork have been passed down for generations. Brothers Ignacio and Abdón Punzo Angel are two of the best known craftsman in the region. Ignacio has received a number of acknowledgments and awards for his work including the Premio Estatal de Artesanias and the Premio de Casa se la Artesanias de Morelia. The vase is signed and dated: "Ignacio Punzo Angel/Santa Clara del Cobre//Michoacán Mexico///Octobre 18 de 1999". This vase came from the estate of Roy Rodgers.
