Jean Grisoni
In recent years, art furniture has become Jean Grisoni’s territory of expression.
Bronze is the dominant vocabulary, wild materials the punctuation marks.
Unique pieces and very short series for passionate collectors.
Born in Algeria in 1950, he draws most of his inspiration from his native Mediterranean.
Marked by his roots, his brutalist poetry is charged with the mineral aridity of the coast, the light so particular of the desert asperities, the discreet and austere sensuality of its inhabitants and the power of the cultural references which immerse each moment.
He tirelessly cultivates the oppositions that create emotion.
Contrasts of the rough and the smooth, of the poor material and the rich detail, of the power and the delicacy, of the shadow and the brightness, of the strength and the fragile, of the modest and the flamboyant, of the brutal gesture and the light breath.
His bronzes with dark patinas are marked with glints, lacquers, gold leaves and silver clasps. They are associated with stones, woods, paper, charcoal, concrete, steel…
Far from the economic turmoil, from the depths of his studio in eastern Paris, Jean Grisoni travels.
