Teco Pottery Arts and Crafts Architectural Vase

About the Item

Teco Pottery Arts & Crafts vase with Four buttressed handles created circa 1903-1910. This piece is designed by W.B. Mundie for Teco Pottery. The vase is shape #269 and bears a matte glaze in a rare pinkish tan color. Measures 11" H x 4 1/2" W. In excellent condition with no damage or repairs. The vase is signed twice on the bottom and also bears a remnant of the original Teco paper label.

Excellent condition with no damage. Measures: 7 3/4" H x 5" D Ken Shores (b.1928-2014) was an artist and teacher born 1928 in Lebanon, Oregon. Ken earned his M.F.A. in 1957 from the University of Oregon following duty in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War. Ken was an Artist-in-Residence at the Oregon Ceramic Studio from 1957 to 1964. From 1968 to 1995, Ken established and built the art department's new ceramics facility at Lewis & Clark College in Portland. Ken continued his own work which is included in numerous private and public collections some of which are the Museum of Contemporary Craft, Portland Art Museum, Seattle Art Museum, the Johnson Wax Collection and the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C.
