Woodfired Studio Pottery Vessel with Three Handles by Gillan Doty

About the Item

A beautiful woodfired studio pottery vase by a North Carolina artisan, circa 2020. Hand thrown stoneware vessel / amphora with three handles. Woodfired for three days with oyster shells to create a natural dramatic glaze in earth tones and rust red. This glazing effect on this contemporary pottery gives the sense that this is an ancient work that has recently been unearthed. Incised on the lower edge with the artist stamp.
