19th Century Bohemian Art Glass Decanter, Set of Three

About the Item

A scarce set of three fine quality Bohemian enameled cobalt art glass decanters, exquisitely made for the Persian market, during the late 19th century. Hand-crafted in Bohemia (present day Czech Republic) by some of the world's best glass artisans and painters. The exceptionally executed antiques, circa 1890, richly decorated in period Art Nouveau taste, the enameling and gilding is truly superb, with quality and detailing second to none. These stunning examples a bold representation of why Bohemian art glass is so highly sought after. The magnificent set presenting with an elongated steeple spire form stopper resting in a waisted three raised band ringed neck, elegantly rising from a bulbous form body, elaborately decorated in decadent gold gilding and intricate, brilliant polychrome painted enamel floral, foliate and scroll patterns, a central portrait medallion, depicting Naser al-Din Shah Qajar (1831-1896), the Shah of Persia until his assassination in 1896.
