English Porcelain London Shape Imari Painted Jug

About the Item

A fine quality antique English porcelain, possibly Coalport, London shape sauce jug decorated in an Imari pattern and dating from around 1810. The sauce jug is lightly potted and is decorated in underglaze blue and overpainted with stylized floral designs in red, green and yellow enamels. The jug has a formal border applied around the upper rim to the outer and inner jug and has a raised loop handle. The rim and handle have remnants of gilding with gilding also applied to the floral designs and the jug is not marked. In good condition with rubbing to the gilding around the rim and with a very small rim chip to the pouring spout.
