Kaendler was chief sculptor at Meissen manufactory as from 1742 until the year 1775. He is the most famous modeller Meissen manufactory ever had and created well-known series such as Shepherd Figurines, Comedian's Children, Gardener Children (with Acier), Paris Town Criers (with Reinicke and Meyer), Gallant Figurines, Asian Figurines etc.

Subject: Figurine group / Allegory of Winter
Four cherubs heating up at blazing fire:
° head and thighs of cherub having taken place on a rock are partially covered with purple red fur coat
° a cherub is shouldering billets of wood: the lovely figurine supports itself on a tree's stump
° a girl wearing a cloth partially covering her body and
° a little boy - his head and shoulders are covered by cloth, too - heat up at blazing fire...
The four figurines are supported by white base.
