Mintons Six English Porcelain Saucers with "Chinoserie" Design

Six amazing English porcelain saucers, once probably belonged to a large and important table set, have the size of dessert, the design is in style "chinoiserie", completely hand-painted with art and rare skill, the artist has meticulously cared for even the smallest details, has used bright colors, vibrant and well distributed; on the back, we find the trademark of the famous English factory Mintons, from the style and the trademark we can date the saucers between 1920 and 1925; the design is underglaze, therefore they can be used at the table or as beautiful and colorful decoration objects. Mintons, founded in 1793 Stoke-upon-Trent, was one of the main pottery companies in Staffordshire, the main pottery factory in Europe during the Victorian era, an independent business from 1793 to 1968. He was a leader in ceramic design, working in a number of different ceramic bodies, decorative techniques, and a glorious array of styles, rococo forms with oriental motifs, classical forms with medieval designs, and Art Nouveau borders were among the many wonderful productions of this famous company; he created ceramic, majolica, bone-china, porcelain, and even "pate-sur-pate", it's a French term meaning "paste on paste". This is a method of porcelain decoration in which an embossed design is created on an unfired, unglazed body, usually with a colored body, by applying successive layers of (usually) white porcelain slip and liquid clay with a brush. We also recall that the Minton factory was the most popular source of supply in the 19th and early 20th century of custom tableware for embassies and heads of state.
