Neoclassical Porcelain Gilded Tureen Made Mid-20th Century
About the Item
This lovely soup tureen is decorated with two finely wrought gold bands of raised silhouettes of children in a celebratory procession. It is joyous! Some of the children play musical instruments, some carry flags, and others ride in horse drawn carts. Above the procession is a band of wave decoration and below it are loops of gilded flower sprigs on a cream colored porcelain ground. The handles are also beautifully gilded.
