Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Lighthouse Style Sugar Caster

A very fine and impressive large antique Victorian English sterling silver lighthouse style caster; part of our silverware collection. This impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver caster has a tapering cylindrical form onto a swept, spreading circular foot. The body of this impressive Victorian lighthouse style caster is encircled with plain applied girdles. This large silver sugar caster is fitted with the original hallmarked detachable bayonet style cover, surmounted with an urn shaped finial. The cover is further embellished with pierced scrolling motifs and quatrefoil designs, in addition to an applied moulded border to the rim. This large caster is a very Fine and impressive example of its type. Condition This large silver sugar caster is a very good gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in excellent condition. This Victorian caster has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body and cover are very clear. This fine antique Edwardian sterling silver sugar caster has a baluster shaped form onto a spreading domed foot. The body of this large caster is embellished with impressive embossed and chased floral and scrolling leaf decoration, incorporating three scroll bordered cartouches; two feature a scale motif diaper pattern background and the other remains vacant.
