Art Nouveau Glass Decanter with Silver Plated Mount, WMF, Germany, 1903-1910
About the Item
Art Nouveau carafe made of clear glass with a round, upwardly tapering body, front and back two facet bands tapering from bottom to top, the lower, bulbous area enclosed by a fitting of interlocking, profiled bands that enclose openwork leaf tendrils and run into four small feet at the ends, J-shaped handle that connects the lower part of the mount with the beak-shaped spout decorated with leaf tendrils and openwork decoration, with a curved, hinged lid, at the very top a small ring as a thumb rest.
