About the Item

A stunning Arts & Crafts Period sterling silver hot water / hot milk pot showing a sculptural, baluster shaped body expertly worked with swirling fluted panels, rising to a conforming hinged top above a spout with embossed organic decoration, sided by a carved & stained fruitwood handle. Bearing London hallmarks, date letter for 1897 and makers marks for William Hutton & Sons, Ltd., together with an engraved dedication & monogram. Height, 8.5". Overall weight, 359 grams. The firm of William Hutton & Sons originated in Birmingham in 1800 then opened their London showroom in 1863. Their work is highly regarded both for their designs as well as for the overall quality of workmanship specifically those items made during the Arts & Crafts period.
