Circa 1950s, Sterling, by C.C. Hermann, Copenhagen, Denmark. Hand hammered, this fabulous covered tureen is an early example of the CC Hermann silversmithy (1949-1992). Displaying a serene form and generous size, it is both functional and decorative, perfect for an understated table setting. Very good condition, with a monogram on the underside noted. This exceptional antique George V sterling silver wine bottle coaster has a plain cylindrical form with a flared rim and domed spreading base. The lower portion of the body is encompassed with embossed concave fluted batwing decoration. The body is fitted with two sterling silver handles, ornamented with a collar design to the centre of each handpiece. The underside of this impressive wine bottle coaster bears the retailer's mark 'Walker & Hall, Sheffield, England'. This impressive bottle coaster is a tall example for its type. Condition This antique silver wine bottle coaster is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver.
