Edwardian Gorham Sterling and Crystal Decanter, Scottish Thistle
About the Item
Early turn of the century decanter by Gorham with cut crystal base and elaborate sterling stopper which reads.." Chevy Chase Club, Consolidated Cup, Runner Up, Annual Sprint Tournament, 1904 won by JD Foot".
Around the edge in Art Nouveau Font is "Hae a Wee Drappie O't" which is an old traditional Scottish vagabond song about the "benefits" of a Wee Drappie O't.
Also there are elaborate thistle motifs surround the sterling stopper which are then carried through into the elaborately hand engraved crystal decanter as well. Amazing quality. Approx 6" across and 9" high. 1900's USA.
