About the Item
A large and impactful pair of George V sterling silver three light candelabra, Sheffield 1928 by Walker and Hall
The filled candlestick bases of shaped and incurved square form with splayed shell scroll corners, the central column with circular knops below a waisted fluted centre leading to a shaped square shell capped knop below a plain capital. The removable three branch section with a further baluster column leading to two elegant acanthus capped scroll arms leading to shell cornered drip pans with capitals, each with removable sconces. Versatile function as either sideboard plate for illuminating the room or as a pair of candlesticks for use on a smaller table. The design based on mid-18th century examples so highly compatible with traditional silverware as well as a stylish counterpart to more modern dining pieces. Each fully marked and part-marked throughout.
