Sterling Mauser Dish

About the Item

We are proud to offer this sterling silver dish by The Mauser Manufacturing Company of New York, NY. Designed and manufactured at the height of the art Nouveau movement of the late 19th century. Art Nouveau is often inspired by natural forms such as the sinuous curves of plants and flowers. Other characteristics of Art Nouveau are a sense of dynamism and movement, often given by asymmetry or whiplash lines. Looking at the pattern of this antique dish we see the scalloped rim and the swirls along the other edge. This piece is one hundred and twenty-four years old so we took the liberty of removing all the dents, dings and scratches. It now looks as beautiful as it did back then. We chose to leave the monogram as a testimonial to its long history. A gorgeous piece of sterling silver that will become a family treasure.
