An exceptional, fine and impressive vintage Elizabeth II English sterling silver straight Old English pattern flatware service for six persons; an addition to our antique flatware sets. The pieces of this exceptional vintage straight* sterling silver flatware set for six persons have been crafted in the Old English pattern. The handle of each piece is plain and unembellished, apart from a pip to the anterior terminal of the forks and the posterior of the spoons. Each spoon features a rounded heel to the bowl. This cutlery set consists of 54 pieces: Basic service: Six table knives Six table forks Six table or serving spoons Six soup spoons Six dessert knives Six dessert forks Six dessert spoons Six fish knives Six fish forks This impressive Old English pattern flatware set benefits from a fine and impressive solid sterling silver fish service. The pieces of this silver flatware set, including the original knives, have been crafted by the Sheffield silversmith William Yates Ltd in 1973. This vintage canteen of cutlery is supplied in felt cutlery rolls; which not only protect the items in storage but significantly reduce tarnishing. "Straight" means all the pieces are made by the same maker in the same year. Condition This vintage Old English pattern flatware set in sterling silver is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each piece are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this example of vintage silverware.
