Unique set of nine Japanese contemporary porcelain espresso cups, saucers and dessert plates, hand-glazed in stunning signature golden brown color on a beautifully shaped body, signed pieces by highly acclaimed award-winning master porcelain artist from the Imari-Arita region of Japan, with his exceptional hand-glazing technique and signature color. This signature glaze crystallizes to create stunning patterns, Golden brown crystals bleed like petals or small marbles against a light brown background. This artist is a highly respected award-winning master porcelain artist of the Imari-Arita region of Japan. He has been invited to showcase his masterpieces in countless prestigious exhibitions and is the recipient of numerous outstanding awards in honor of his unique and exceptional hand-glazing techniques, recognizing his many contributions to this centuries old art. He is a master of Yohan technique, roughly translated as “alchemy of the kiln,” in which minute variations in closely guarded glaze recipes and kiln temperatures produce a stunning pallet of hues and patterns manifested in subtle but awe-inspiring gradation of colors. One of his most notable signature gradation patterns is referred to a “galaxy,” where the “alchemy of the kiln” produces the effect of millions of stars glowing faintly in distant skies.
