Scratch Built Fairground Wheel
About the Item
Scratch built fairground wheel
Mounted on a bespoke cast iron detachable support stand, this unique, folk art, scratch-built fairground roulette wheel is still in fully working order. We would say dated from the mid-20th Century the wheel is made from an old bicycle wheel, a hand painted metal sheet completes the wheels facia. With wrought iron nails for stoppers in place and metal bracket flap at the top. This highly decorative and one-off piece of fairground art would look amazing stood in the corner of a quirky, funky interior space. The wheel is detachable from the stand so could be hung from a wall if needed.

Completely solid in structure and form, worn, loss of painted and aged surface, faded in areas as shown to the right-hand side of the wheel.
