About the Item
A Grand pair of Tynell floor lamps commissioned for the HOK Suurravintola "Grand Restaurant" in Helsinki. Paavo Tynell, Oy Taito Ab, c. 1949. Only 8 of these lamps are known to be made.
The legendary HOK Suurravintola was situated in the center of Helsinki at the Vaakuna Hotel. The restaurant was the biggest in Finland and one of the most popular and majestic. As the Vaakuna Hotel itself, all the restaurant lighting was commissioned and design by Paavo Tynell.
This pair is in beautiful condition with electric wiring renewed and shades remade with earth tone linen resonating the original fabric used while at the restaurant.
