Pair of French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Ormolu and Patinated Bronze Sconces
About the Item
A beautiful and high quality pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu and patinated bronze sconces. Each three arm sconce is centered by wonderful tied foliate designs, lovely flowing acanthus leaves, and an exquisite finely detailed finial with charming fruits and flowers. Each of the arms displays a most decorative scrolled Rinceau shaped design adorned with richly chased acanthus leaves and most decorative spiral arms leading to beautiful floral bobeches and fine beaded mottled candle cups. At the center, the arms scroll upwards leading to finely detailed griffin heads centering the elegantly curved fluted top support with an impressive eternal flame finial.
