"Pinecone" Large Table Lamp Designed by Paola Navone for FontanaArte

About the Item

"Pinecone" is a large table lamp, designed by Paola Navone and manufactured by FontanaArte, with a lampshade in transparent or frosted white blown glass, a metal cage with nickel or gold finish and a white painted metal base. It's provided with a dimmer and lighting source is 1 x max 150W 230V E27 (HA, FL, LED). DIMENSIONS: Ø 19.7", H. 20.5". "Pinecone" is a collection of lighting elements characterized by a blown glass diffuser, available in transparent glossy or frosted white colors. The diffuser is manufactured using the ancient technique of caged blown glass, whereby a master glazier inflates a vitreous bubble inside a metal cage, which only partially contains its natural Expansion. In this way the final product is in part retained by the cage and partially escapes, creating a tension that generates an object suspended in the act of escaping from its constraint. The cage is further embellished with a galvanic treatment that gives it a bright and shiny surface. The collection now offers the option of choosing a precious gold finish and new sizes: table and ceiling versions in two diameters of 11.8" and 14.2", a pendant version with two lengths of 27.5" and 47.2", plus a floor lamp. PAOLA NAVONE is an architect, a product designer, an interior decorator and an art director. Straightforward, but still a dreamer and an eclectic woman: her mind and soul are a combination of flavours and colours of the South of the world, which she knew, loved and lived, together with tastes and forms of the West, rich in traditions, open and continuously in movement. All of this produces her untiring curiosity in her research for materials, forms and structures. Her research for the present, the past and the future. She created exhibitions and events all around the world. In 1983, she won the prestigious Osaka International Design Award. She was nominated "Designer of the Year" in 2000 for the magazine Architektur&Wohen. In 2011 she won the Elle Deco International Design Awards for two projects. On 2014 she was inducted into Interior Design Magazine’s prestigious Hall of Fame. She worked and still cooperates with most important companies of the international and Italian scene of the design world.

  • Pinecone Lamp in White Marble by Paul Mathieu for Stephanie Odegard
    By Stephanie Odegard Collection
    Located in New York, NY
Inspired by the Pinecone, Paul Mathieu designed this beautiful floor/outdoor lighting fixture. Solid pieces of marble are first carved into hollow complementary pieces and hand-carved to create the intricate carving motif which plays with the translucent property of the white marble. The light inside softly illuminates a corner and casts a beautiful image on the surrounding area, a walkaway or as a decorative piece. Pinecone Lamp...
