"Vaca Colgada" is a large mirror, designed by Nestor Perkal and manufactured by Oscar Maschera. Leather colors available: tan, sienna, orange, red, red-purple, dark brown, khaki, blue, black. DIMENSIONS (metal structure): D. 35.4", W. 47.2", H. 5.9" DIMENSIONS (leather): D. 39.3", W. 51.1" Each mirror is never the same as the one before, nor as the one that comes after, as well as the leather used to make it. Each hide, as it reaches the workshop, is hung on a frame/shelf and a hole is then made in its centre to see the mirror. Each hide is unique, as well as each mirror. Italianate mirror and console set designed and manufactured by Oscar Bach, 1923. Copper alloy with dark brown chemical patina, glass, lacquer, tinned sheet metal. The framing panels of this Italianate mirror consist of foliate scrolls within rectangular borders, laid over lacquer panels. The side, top, and bottom panels contain vines with triangular leaves, textured fruit and leaves, and berries, all imposed over red lacquer. Each of the four corner panels depicts a four-leafed blossom on an open square device, imposed over black lacquer. Each of these eight lacquered panels is framed by a simple molding, and a ribboned slip molding surrounds the glass that lies within the frame made by the lacquered panels. Above this ornate rectangular frame is a pediment containing a classical mask with lobed hair or crown and down-turned mouth, flanked by converging S-scrolls with petaled flowers.
