Good Size Pair of Hand Carved & Patinated Don Quixote and Sancho Panza Bookends

About the Item

Finest quality carved and mint condition 1930s, famous novel bookends. If you are looking for decorative, practical and very well-crafted bookends then this detailed pair could be perfect for you. The taller and slimmer figure obviously is Don Quixote. Here he is sitting on an antique chair with books displayed underneath and in his never-ending curiosity something or someone clearly drew his attention. He is in mint condition and truly beautifully carved. We don't know the meaning of the large and bearded male figure carved on one side of his chair, but we are certain that the collectors will. The heavier set gentleman is of course Sancho Panza. He too is beautifully carved and in mint condition. Especially with the strikingly carved 'pillow' on which Sancho's feet are resting, these 'brothers in arms' look like they are sitting on thrones. This majestic pair will make a great gift for yourself or for someone who is into reading or who sells or writes novels. This pair also has an amazing patina and as so often is the case, they look so much better in real life than in our photos. Our price for this finely carved pair even includes perfect packing (in a custom made box) and also worldwide delivery from our store to your door within 4 to 6 days. Measures: Maximum height x width x depth each: 8.5 x 5.7 x 4.6 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again).
