About the Item
G.T.DESIGN’s Next rug collection combines the power of geometrical shapes with archaic and primordial patterns. "Next 11" is a runner rug made in polyamide featuring a color block design of rich earthy tones as vivid as they were directly painted with large brush strokes on the rug.
This Next collection is the result of the focus on research and experimentation of the Italian contemporary rug company’s Creative Director Deanna Comellini. Next applies digital printing techniques to the textures and patterns of G.T.DESIGN’s signature rugs in a variety of shapes and sizes, creating custom made and one of a kind carpets.

About the designer:
Deanna Comellini is an artist and a designer.
For over 40 years, she has experimented by combining craftsmanship and industrial design while working first on product design and later on textiles. She has developed the notion of ‘imperfect design’, highlighting the minor flaws of materials and handmade products that make them unique and one-of-a-kind. In the 1990s, she focused on the concept of the contemporary rug and natural materials while innovating the industry with a new textile for interior design. In 1977, she founded G.T.DESIGN taking on the role of Creative Director. She participated in prestigious international exhibitions and collaborated with important architectural figures, including Toyo Ito and the Zaha Hadid Architects studio.
In 2022, Deanna Comellini was named one of the 100 Most Influential Women by Forbes Italy.

An example is the Coconutrug, G.T.DESIGN’s first patented rug, handmade with precious coconut fiber, ideal for areas with heavy footfall. She also uses modern technical yarns such as viscose to give an incomparable sheen and color depth to the Kama rug, among the company’s bestselling products and a trend setter in the industry. In addition, she works alongside international architects and interior designers on custom made rugs for residential and commercial projects.
