Important Acton Bjørn Wingback Chair in Sheepskin, A.J. Iversen, Denmark, 1937

About the Item

This extremely rare wingback chair was designed by Acton Bjørn and made by the cabinetmaker Andreas Jeppe Iversen in Denmark, 1937. The chair was made for a friend of Acton Bjørn who lived on an estate in Holte, located at the northern outskirts of Copenhagen. The generously sized chair has been newly upholstered in a dark beige/light brown sheepskin with buttoned back. The square legs are in dark lacquered beech wood. Literature: Ester Scheel a.o. (ed.) "Haandbog for nutidshjem" 1937. p. 25. Illustrated and described.
