We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning fully restored cigar brown hand dyed leather Regency show framed armchair A very good looking and nicely refurbished piece. This is an original Regency circa 1810 armchair, the seat platform is all coil sprung, the leather individually hand nail tacked in place. The chair has the original brass castors. This chair is called a show frame armchair, it was made for an exhibition to attract attention and show off the craftsman skill, he would then take commissions on similar pieces It is fully restored as mentioned, the leather has been stripped back to the natural color of the hide, its then been hand dyed this glorious tobacco brown color, the timber has been lightly cleaned and French polished Dimensions: Height 64.5cm Width 73cm Depth 71cm Seat height 40cm This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses.
