Harp Chair Attributed to Jorgen Hovelskov

About the Item

A nice vintage Harp chair was likely designed by Jorgen Hovelskov and manufactured by Christensen & Larsen, Mobelhadvaerk, Copenhagen in 1960s. Its unique form was inspired by a Viking ship bow section. The expertly crafted frame, in solid walnut, anchors the hypnotic weaving of the flag line, giving the chair an airy optical complexity. The current one has a taller and narrower profile than the usual model by Jorgen Hovelskov.

They are practical chairs equipped with swiveling base and seat very comfortable with soft foam. The design was likely by Kagan. The color of the upholstery is rather dazzling with a silver and bronze subtle metallic tone and texture. The last three pictures...
