Set of Six Very Rare Roland Rainer Chairs, Austria, 1950s

About the Item

Six very rare Roland Rainer chairs produced by Emil & Alfred Pollack, Vienna, Austria. Roland Rainer is famous for the design of the Vienna City Hall ("Wiener Stadthalle") and his well known "Stadthallen" chairs. This chair was an early design from him and is rarer than the "Stadthallen" chair. This chair was designed for the exhibition "Soziale Wohnkultur" in 1953. Lit.: "Möbeldesign der 50er Jahre", Eva B. Ottillinger, p. 53, 62 The chairs are in excellent condition. The frame is made of beech and the straps has been renewed. Priced singly, sold pairwise. We ship worldwide.
