Set of Six French 1970's Ebonized and Lacquered Chairs
About the Item
An original set of six French 1970's tall back ebonized wood dining chairs.
Some of the chairs with original labels " NF ameublement siege 16"
certified by L'Institut Technologique FCBA, which was a guarantee of purchasing a high quality and reliable item tested under the hardest conditions of every day use, during this period .
Clean Modernist lines featuring tall elegant backs with an aesthetic horizontal wood top crest and frame surrounding a shield shape upholstered backrest. Functionally this wood top protects the fabric from finger prints when handling the chairs.
The streamline chairs have stylish front tapered tubular legs tipped with nickeled bronze sabots.
The original cushion seats and backs are upholstered in a mottled beige naugahyde. They are of the period, in good condition and sold as is.
if re upholstery is desired, the cushions are easily removable.
All chair frames are finished in a dark ebonized brownish black lacquer.
Can be used as side chairs, office chairs in a Brooklyn loft, French Modern, Italian design, Industrial, Cubism, Art Deco, Mid century, Modernist, Moderne setting .

Wood in good condition with some small, old repairs, superficial scratches, imperfections, all barely discernible. Areas of satin to gloss variation on the lacquer finish. Original vintage upholstery as is.
