'Yucatan' Dining Chairs by Edmond Spence for Industria Mueblera, 1960s Signed

About the Item

This set of six classic mid-century modern Mahogany and cane 'Yucatan' dining chairs was designed by Swedish designer Edmond J. Spence in the 1950s and produced by Industria Mueblera, Mexico. This vibrant Mahogany and caned 'Yucatan' dining chair set is flattering alone or when paired with its original peachy red cushions that feature a repeated white dot pattern. If you would rather request to have the cushions reupholstered, let us know. For instance, you could reupholster in white bouclé, which is one of the hottest, most popular fabrics used today by high end interior designers. The Mahogany frames were refinished and polished with a luxurious lacquer. This rare set of six Mahogany and cane 'Yucatan' dining chairs by Edmond Spence for Industria Mueblera are highly sought after by collectors and interior designers alike. This design was only produced in small quantities which adds to its collectibility. Plus, this set is signed with Industria Mueblera labels, making it a perfect set for design collectors, investors and connoisseurs. Interior designers, be sure to get this set for your current project before your competition does. This set of 'Yucatan' dining chairs are an exotic variation of the traditional spindle back chair and can work with both traditional or modern interiors. Note that these chairs were refinished and have one small break to the caning on one chair (which is not visible with the seat cushions on). Contact us if you would like us to have that small section fixed if you plan to use the chairs without the cushions). *This listing is priced for the set of six (6) chairs - contact us if you would like to purchase a smaller set This set of six walnut and cane 'Yucatan' dining chairs by Edmond Spence circa 1950 would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian or Danish Modern, or American Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary, Hollywood Regency or Post-Modern room.
