Hans Eichenberger for Girsberger Leather Lounge or Easy Chairs, Switzerland 1966

About the Item

A pair of lounge or easy chairs with a heavy chromed base and tuffed leather cushions designed by Hans Eichenberger for Girsberger and made in Switzerland in 1966. This model is called "Model 1600". Although the chairs have a very modern appearance, they are actually designed in 1966. With their chromed base and curved feet they have some resemblances with the PK lounge chair by Danish Poul Kjaerholm or the Barcelona chair by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. This chair is designed by Hans Eichenberger an interior architect from Switzerland. Hans designed some of the finest furniture pieces of the Swiss Mid-Century Modern era. Many famous Swiss companies like De Sede, Strassle and Girsberger worked with Hans and several Classic sofas, chairs and tables were created. We reupholstered the chairs with new black leather and new cushions.
